Your data
Your jobs stay in your Microsoft 365.
JobsViz isn't a separate cloud service holding your information. It's an app that runs inside your own Microsoft 365, so your data is stored, secured and backed up where it is today.
Stored in your tenant
Clients, contracts, jobs, milestones, issues, forms and settings are kept in Dataverse tables in your own Power Platform environment. Documents, form files, photos and final-record PDFs stay in your SharePoint libraries.
Your sign-in, your permissions
People sign in with their Microsoft 365 accounts. Access comes from your Microsoft Entra groups and Dataverse security roles, and SharePoint decides who can open each document.
Your policies apply
Multi-factor sign-in, conditional access, retention, eDiscovery, auditing and backups you have in Microsoft 365 cover JobsViz too.
What Lydon Solutions receives
Only what's needed to check your licence, and to look up the weather if you use our Weather add-on. JobsViz never sends us your clients, jobs, documents or any other project data.
- Licence check (on activation and once a day): your licence key, your Microsoft 365 tenant ID and the JobsViz version
- Weather add-on (only if you use it): a job's map position and a date, with your licence key and tenant ID to check the add-on. We keep the weather answers by place (rounded to about a kilometre) and date, not who asked
- Requests you send from Admin > Modules (a trial, a renewal or a quote): the name, email, organisation, modules and message you enter
- Help and support: only what you choose to share with us when you contact us
Optional outside services
Maps, weather and support, and exactly what they receive
A few features reach services outside Microsoft 365, straight from the person's browser. Each can be left unused, and nothing else depends on them.
Maps
Map pictures come from OpenFreeMap, with OpenStreetMap data. They receive the part of the map being shown, as any map website does. No key or account.
Address look-ups
When someone types an address, it is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim to suggest matches and find its position. Switch Map: Address lookup off and no address leaves JobsViz.
Weather
A job's map position and a date, sent to OpenWeather with your own key, or to our Weather add-on (which asks Open-Meteo). Never the job's name, client, people or documents.
JobsViz Support
Help opens our support site in a new tab, where people sign in with their work Microsoft account (their name, email and photo) or an emailed code. The apps send it only the person's email, so the right account signs in. Nothing from your jobs or documents.
Power BI
Only if your admins add Power BI reports: the Reports page shows them from Microsoft Power BI in your own tenant, and people sign in with their Microsoft 365 account. JobsViz sends Power BI nothing; your reports read your Dataverse data under your own Power BI settings.
The permissions JobsViz asks for, and why
When your admin approves JobsViz in the SharePoint admin center, it is granted delegated Microsoft Graph and Dataverse access: it acts as the signed-in person and can only do what that person is allowed to do.
- Dataverse: read and write the JobsViz tables; for admins with the Form Builder, create the tables of the forms they publish
- Groups and Teams: create the team sites, Teams teams and channels your admins ask for, add or remove people, and delete a site's group when an admin deletes the site
- Files: Add to my OneDrive, and turn a final form into a PDF copy in the job's library
- Mail: send job requests, help requests, form emails and setup steps from the person's own mailbox
- Tasks and calendars: show Planner tasks and add job dates to Outlook
The setup wizard (the JobsViz Install web part) asks for nothing more: it uses the same approved access, and the data and documents it imports go straight into your own Dataverse environment and SharePoint sites. The install guide lists every permission in full.
In short
JobsViz works like any other SharePoint app in your tenant. If you remove it, your data is still in your Dataverse environment and SharePoint sites, in tables and libraries you own.
